Prerequisites
Before starting this tutorial, we recommend completing:
What You'll Learn
- ✓Create your RelayDesk account
- ✓Activate partner access with your community's Discord account
- ✓Confirm your member access and signal access are active
Your community membership includes RelayDesk access. You activate it by connecting the Discord account that holds your membership. No RelayDesk payment card is required.
Before you start
- Access to your email.
- The Discord account that holds your community membership. It needs to be in your community's server with the membership role that includes RelayDesk access. If you're not sure your membership includes it, ask your community's team.
Create your account
- Open the RelayDesk signup page.
- Choose Continue with Google or Continue with Apple, or enter your Email, Password and Confirm password, then select Create account.
- If you see Check your email, open the verification message and follow its link. Then return to RelayDesk and select Go to sign in.
- Review and accept the Terms of Service when prompted.
For email signup, your password needs at least eight characters, including an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter and a number. If the verification email hasn't arrived, check your spam folder or use the resend option.
Activate partner access
- When RelayDesk asks you to choose a plan, find Purchased through a partner? and select Activate Partner Access. On the Billing page, the same option is labeled Verify partner access and may sit below the retail plans.
- Follow the Discord prompt. Sign in with the Discord account that holds your membership, review the requested permissions, and authorize the connection.
- RelayDesk returns you to your account and checks your community role. If your Discord account is already linked, RelayDesk may verify it without showing the Discord prompt again.
If a retail checkout panel opens, close it and look for the partner section. If you can't find the partner option, ask your community's team before buying a retail plan.
Confirm your access
Open Settings > Billing > Community access and check that:
- The Discord username shown is yours.
- Your community appears under Connected communities.
- Your community shows Provides Member Access.
- Signals active appears, if your membership includes signal access. Your community's signals are then available in your account, with nothing to add.
A Discord connection by itself doesn't confirm that RelayDesk found your community role. Check for Provides Member Access too. Keep your membership and Discord connection active to keep this access.
If something doesn't look right
- Discord connected, but partner role not found: check that you used the right Discord account and that it has your community's membership role. If your membership was just added, give the role a few minutes to sync, then select Refresh access.
- Verification pending: in Community access, select Refresh access, then check Billing again. Contact support if it stays pending.
- Wrong Discord account: in Community access, select Change Discord. If RelayDesk blocks the change because access or active bots depend on it, contact support.
- Discord already linked to another RelayDesk account: sign in to that account instead, or ask support to resolve the duplicate link.
- Community access doesn't appear after you return: open Settings > Billing directly and find the card.
- Already paying for RelayDesk: you can still verify partner access from Billing. Your retail subscription isn't canceled automatically, so use Stop retail renewal to end future charges. Partner activation doesn't issue a refund.
When you ask for help in your community's support channel, include the step you reached, the exact error text and a screenshot with personal details hidden. Never send passwords, verification codes or broker keys.
