How to automate trades from a Discord options alert community

Fast 0DTE and scalping calls are hard to copy by hand. How to automate a Discord options alert community the right way, with your own risk caps and paper first.

The call hits your Discord: a 0DTE SPY call, entry around a specific premium, target and stop listed underneath. By the time you see the notification, unlock your phone, open your broker and build the order, the premium has moved. Maybe you chase it. Maybe you skip it and watch it hit target without you.

If you pay for an options alert community, this is the gap between what the room calls and what you actually get. Here's how to close it without breaking any rules or giving up control of your account.

Why copying calls by hand breaks down

  • Latency. On short-dated options, a few seconds can change the premium meaningfully. Manual entry adds that delay to every trade.
  • Missed calls. Meetings, commutes and sleep don't line up with when the room posts.
  • Sizing under pressure. Working out contracts for your account size while the trade is live leads to mistakes.
  • Selective following. After two losses, most people start skipping calls. Your results then stop matching the room's in ways that are hard to measure.
  • Exits. Trims, runners and stop adjustments get posted mid-trade. Keeping up by hand is a full-time job.

The approach to avoid

Some scripts automate your personal Discord account to read a channel and forward messages. That's known as a self-bot, and Discord's terms prohibit automating normal user accounts, which can get your account terminated and cost you the membership you paid for. These scripts also have to guess at trade details from fast, informal messages full of abbreviations and corrections, which is a risky input for real orders.

How community signal automation works on RelayDesk

RelayDesk works with partner communities directly. When a community is connected, the flow looks like this:

  1. The community's analyst posts a callout, and RelayDesk receives it as a signal.
  2. RelayDesk checks the signal against your bot's rules, such as position size, daily loss cap, entry window and Skip Days.
  3. If the signal passes, RelayDesk places the order in your broker account. If it doesn't, RelayDesk skips it and records the reason.
  4. You review every signal and its outcome in Signal History.

What stays in your control

  • Your money stays in your own Alpaca, Tradier, Public or other supported broker account. RelayDesk doesn't hold your funds.
  • You decide which signals your bots follow, and you can pause any bot at any time.
  • Your risk caps apply to every order, no matter what the signal says.
  • Every new bot can run in paper mode first, so you can watch it work before real money is involved.

Setting it up

If your community partners with RelayDesk, setup takes about 20 minutes. The community quick start walks through each step:

  1. Activate your member access by connecting the Discord account that holds your community membership.
  2. Connect your broker in paper mode, so your first trades are simulated.
  3. Create a bot that follows your community's signals on paper.
  4. Set your risk caps before any real money is involved.

Let the bot run on paper long enough to see how its fills compare with the room's calls, then decide whether to go live.

What to check before automating any alert room

Automation executes whatever the room calls, faster and more consistently than you would. That makes the quality of the room matter even more. Before you automate, look for:

  • A track record you can check, including losing trades, not just screenshots of winners.
  • Clear, consistent notation for entries, targets and stops.
  • A defined process for corrections and exits once a trade is live.
  • A trading style that fits your account. 0DTE calls can move fast enough to wipe out a position in minutes, so size for that.

What about Telegram alerts?

Telegram isn't a RelayDesk signal source today. It's planned, and you can follow progress on the roadmap.

Run a community?

If you run an options alert community on Discord or Whop, RelayDesk partners with community owners so your members can follow your calls automatically, inside their own accounts and their own risk limits. Reach out to the RelayDesk team to learn how partnerships work.
